Opening and closing a shift
Included in EmpresarioOpening cash, Z report and the end-of-day count.
No video for this guide yet. The step by step is below.
Step by step
- 1
Open the shift when the day starts and write down how much cash is in the drawer.
That number is the basis of the whole count. Skip it or guess it and the close will not add up, and you will not know whether money went missing or just the figure did.
- 2
Every sale that day is tied to that shift, without you doing anything.
- 3
If cash goes in or out outside a sale — paying a courier, leaving change — record it as a cash movement.
- 4
When you finish, close the shift and count what is actually there.
- 5
The Z report shows what should be there against what you counted.
A small difference is normal. A large one that keeps happening is a conversation worth having early.
